The StatsDrone Ecosystem
StatsDrone is a company based in Montreal, Quebec, Canada that aims to solve problems in affiliate marketing and make the whole industry more data driven. The founders are John Wright and Darrell Helyar. The mission statement is simple, to make affiliate marketing better and provide the best world class data tools to make life easier in running their business.
Along with making affiliate marketing better for everyone, StatsDrone aims to build research tools for the purpose of obtaining big data in affiliate marketing. This could be used to help affiliates and operators (affiliate programs) to optimize their business to the furthest.
StatsDrone has support for over 2250 affiliate program integrations that are mainly iGaming but also cover a few niches like affiliate networks and finance affiliate programs. The data that StatsDrone gets is traffic and revenue data.
StatsDrone gets data for affiliates from affiliate programs in the following levels:
The StatsDrone app is the core product that collects data from affiliate programs for affiliates. This product is currently being used by the following types of customers: SEO affiliates, PPC affiliates (paid media), affiliate networks, affiliate agencies and affiliate programs.
This is a sub product built as an affiliate link research tool. One of the core objectives of the app is to understand how affiliates link to products and services and to also identify broken tracking links and closed products and services. This is a way for StatsDrone to help affiliates avoid revenue leak. The tool also collects data from all web based sites that contain at least one tracking link on it. This tool is also useful for affiliate managers.
StatsDrone is planning to build an affiliate network platform as a service so other companies can launch their own affiliate network powered by the StatsDrone app. This product is in development and expecting to launch Q1 or Q2 2026.
PAM stands for player account management which allows affiliates to combine dynamic variables with their first party data for the highest level of tracking possible.
StatsDrone provides BI and AI tools for affiliates as custom solutions.
These are affiliates that typically drive search traffic to their sites.
PPC says for pay per click or can be referred to as paid media affiliates. The PPC affiliate typically uses dynamic variables and/or postbacks with StatsDrone and sometimes will combine other tools like Voluum or Keitaro to get the full funnel attribution.
Any affiliate that can drive traffic to a product, brand or service is our potential customer. They can be streamers, email database affiliates, social media influencers, app developers, etc...
An agency can manage deals on behalf of an affiliate but they work different than an affiliate network. An agency can take a cut of the business of an affiliate but they don't own the traffic or data but can work with the data but not be the owner of it.
An affiliate network works with multiple affiliate programs and collects deals because of the volume of traffic they can get. The affiliate that works with a network will not always own their traffic or data but they can sometimes earn more than trying to get deals on their own. They also get the benefit of not having to spend time collecting payments so they have one affiliate manager and one payment to collect per month rather than dealing with tends or hundreds of payments.
Affiliate managers and programs can be customers of Affiliate Track to find affiliates but some are already using StatsDrone to analyze and monitor their affiliates better. They can get a better visibility of their users and they can take advantage of the data viz and analytics tools to run custom reports to know when affiliate campaigns are trending up or down.
StatsDrone gets data through a scraping service as well as API for affiliate programs that have it. StatsDrone also has a CSV uploader for programs that don't have an API and make scraping impossible or there is no login to obtain your data.
StatsDrone is not an affiliate network but there are some similarities but also major differences in the operations.
StatsDrone operates as a data aggregation and analytics company and doesn't manage deals or business on behalf of an affiliate. An affiliate network will manage the deals for their affiliates (or publishers) while usually taking a cut of the business. An affiliate network by default works with many affiliate programs so they have to collect data from an affiliate program in a similar way that StatsDrone gets data.
The big differences are that StatsDrone pulls data from 1000s of affiliate programs and networks and gets the richest data possible while most networks don't use or need the rich data component and tend to work with a very narrow group of programs such as 100 or less on average. Affiliate networks are not always concerned with data accuracy other than they need to ensure they pay their affiliates less than what they pull in.
For the affiliates, they likely don't own their traffic as most of the time, the tracking links are issued by the network where the network can choose to cease business operations. With StatsDrone, affiliates own their data, deals and 100% of their revenue whereas with networks, the network owns the data and owns the assets of players and revenue share accounts.
There are an estimated minimum 5000 affiliate networks in the world where as stats aggregator companies like StatsDrone there are only a handful. There are possibly well over 100 affiliate software that do aggregation work but don't offer them to single affiliates but are part of an affiliate network suite.
John Wright and Darrell Helyar founded the company in December 2017.
